TMS Licensing ad

The challenge: to include lots of different comic strip images into one ad. In previous years, designers had put each comic into its own box, isolating them. I wanted to create unity with our comics, and it also establishes a nice unified bold graphic for the design. This is an example of how sometimes I design with a certain motion in my head. I had this powerful feeling creating a motion from the upper right to the rest of the layout. This is achieved by the purple lines in the background, the headlines coming down, and the artwork framed on the left.

Client:
Tribune Media Services: Licensing department

Fonts:
Imperfect (A great font for mixing up the point sizes as seen here. The imperfect thicks and things with each letter complement the different sizes of each letter. But fitting each letter together to form a nice tight word.)
