Gene(sis): Contemporary Art Explores Human Genomics

From digitally-altered photographs of Òmanimals,Ó to abstract gene-mapping paintings, this exhibition investigates the potential social, emotional, and ethical implications of genetic research. "Gene(sis)" features more than 50 works by renowned and emerging artists including Chicago-based Eduardo Kac, I–igo Manglano-Ovalle and Dario Robleto. In the free symposium, "Outside-In: Exploring the Human Genome Project from Across the Disciplines," experts from various fields discuss the impact of genomics on all aspects of human life and culture.

Art Connects: The River

Take a walking tour along the Chicago River of eight sculptures. Created by local sculptors inspired by the setting, the sculptures sit on locations adopted by Chicago businesses as part of Friends of the Chicago RiverÕs Adopt a River Downtown program. A Century of Progress: Architecture and Chicago's

Zhou Brothers at Work

Watch the Zhou Brothers demonstrate their collaborative process as they create a large-scale painting right before your very eyes.
