I was anticipating some doubting for when I was gonna mail this package . So when I went into the post office to mail this item, with a smile I told the postal worker behind the counter, "I would like to mail this item as is, with no envelope. I realize it may not make it to it's destination, but I'd like to try to see if it does."

Gripping the counter waiting for the denying response, I actually got back a reply with a straight face, "Well why not? Of course it'll make it through."

I responded, "now THAT'S the type of response that i like!" Post office: on my good side. She even took great care placing the stamp sticker on and putting clear tape over the address so it wouldn't smear off. The american post office shared its love with me today.

You know those online translator sites that translate stuff into other languages automatically? Of course things get lost in automatic translation, so here's a fun game:

1) Take a phrase in english
2) put it into an online translator like freetranslation.com/.
3) Translate it into another langauge. Say... german.
4) Take the german translation and change it back into english.

Here's an example:
Original English:
"There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered."

Into German, and back into English:
"There is like on a place returning that unchanged remains to find the entrances, that you changed to nothing."

Anyone find this sculpture disturbing?

I find it odd that corner bakery at Union Station (chicago) would have an awning when it is already under a cover by the building. The awning serves no functional purpose, just ornamental.

I'd love to see the look the person's face who found it. And espicially when the person takes it and uses it in their home. They will have this neat story to tell.

The thesaurus has "Mickey Mouse" as a synonym for comical. Quite odd considering they don't list any other characters. So if i want to say something is comical, i can say: "That tv show was just so Mickey Mouse!"

The host of the popular Blues Clues childrens's show has left the show and is working on a rock album. I greatly admire how he is able to leave something popular and successful to futher discover himself.

But I wonder if this is a start of a trend.
Start up a children's show with the plan that the host will leave in three years to become an ironic edgey celebrity. It's the ultimate in cool. It's like taking Mr. Rogers and making him into a emo singer. But the only reason for doing the show is to produce this ironic character.

With raisinets I like how you can eat as much as you want. Only want a nibble? Then just take a few. But with a candy bar, it's like you have to eat the whole thing.

This has got to be a metaphor for something, i'm not sure what yet.

* doughnuts have dough. i.e. Dunkin' Donuts (yes, ironic, it should be Dunkin' Doughnuts)
* donuts are those light airy donuts that have no dough. i.e. Krispy Kreme. They are called "donut", because they "Do nuthing".

Awhile ago, i pondered what's the name for the | character?
Now, I think there is a "|" conspiracy:
-it has no name
-it has no meaning
-it's even spelled wrong on PC keyboards with the gap in the middle
There's gotta be some coverup on the | character.

Having to look on the inside label, instead of under the cap, is very tricky by soda companies. It makes the drinker want to drink more fast, "did i win? did i win?".
