"Salutations" should not be on that list. A salutation, by defintion, is a way to say hello, or to greet someone. Ways of saying "goodbye" especially in written form, are called valedictions. You could say "salutations" instead of hello. Hope this helps!

It's from Silent Night which refers to Jesus who sleeps in heavenly peace (i.e. he is no longer on this earth). Either way that's a weird way to end a letter and if I got it in a letter I would be pretty confused...
