Wow, i've been tieing my shoes wrong the whole time too! For my whole life i've been using a freaking slip knot! Turn on your VCRs, this is the changing point of my life for I have adopted the Secure "Reef" knot.

i like the "Straight (Fashion) Lacing" method.

I use different lacing methods for different types of shoes. My dress shoes get a more formal lacing while my sneakers get a more casual lacing.

Can you use one lace to bar lace a shoe? I used one blue lace to bar lace one of my Phat Farms, but I wanna know if that is okay. On some instructions it was using two.

Amanda, I hope this is not too late for your bar lacing emergency. Perhaps you are in need of the bar lace style for a certain social event. It would be really cool if people thought your bar laced laces were just keen. On that page, they don't exactly specify the bar style, but it is inherent within the exempliary examples of the: Straight (European) Lacing, Straight (Lazy) Lacing, Sawtooth Lacing, Shoe Shop Lacing, and my all-time favorite: Straight (Fashion) Lacing.

I am very curious what you need the bar lacing for.

I have found a fun and new way to lace shoes to look like checkers. First you have to bar lace your shoes and make them kind of loose. then take another piece of shoe lace and weave in and out over and under the bar lace until you have no more room, then, just wake around and you wil have checker lace shoes

There seems to be quite the demand on how to lace your shoes. I hope y'all aren't running around without shoe laces. That could be dangerous.

i have a pair of old shoes that I took the laces off. I use them as slippers. It gets a little annoying if I need to run to Target or something. But when I'm around the house they are nice to slip on and off, especially when I'm in the basement playing Crimson Skies.

Hey I've been checkerboarding my shoes(Saucony's and Air Force's) Since about the third grade(I'm a Junior in High School now). I can pretty much checkerboard two pair of shoes in about 8 minutes(I'm lame i timed myself). I also have many different styles that i use most of which are posted on Ian's site. If anybody needs EASY instructions on how to straight/bar/european lace send an email and i will try to get back at you. Anywho As i was searching for somethin new to do with these new pair of filas i have i came across the lattice lacing. Two colors on a lattice looks pretty good. i can also give instructions for that too.

Here is basicly the same picture as before, exept I re-laced with fat, red laces. I would prefer thin red laces, but the fat ones were all I had. It looks cooler, i think. It makes me feel more original with my shoes, considering that alot of people wear converse.
