Nope, still sitting on my desk at work. This photo took some trickery. He would not stand up on his own, so behind him is some tape holding him to the surface.

but i wonder if the Tribune janitorial staff would recognize his supernatural napkin powers. they might just think he's a folded napkin and pitch him.

even if they do pitch him, Napkin Man will leap out of the garbage can and save himself.

so he can propel himself out of deep places. he can't stand up on his own and needs to be taped to surfaces, but can jump out of garbage cans? this sounds fishy.

when it's windy, for sure. all the time. Sometimes I have to keep a leash on Napkin Man so he doesn't fly away--then he becomes... KITE MAN! COME HERE KITE MAN! I NEED TO WIPE MY HANDS!

i thought sculpture was supposed to be about the form. won't 2-D art detract from this? when i wanted to paint on my ceramic figures in high school, i was told this was not proper. it was forbidden!

i think he was trying to make me aware of the form. he didn't actually FORBID me, because i went ahead and did it anyway. i "painted" some designs with colored glaze on a ceramic figure that i made. looking back, i can see his point. it's just that i'm a painter, so i couldn't help myself.

My freshman year roommate was bouncing a tennis ball on the wall and knocked over and broke the piece. I was very upset. But, when I graduated I found the broken piece and put it together with masking tape and I was much happier with the piece being broken with the masking tape.

oh i thought your ceramic piece was a thing about twins. Cuz it's got like two sections. It's just about charlie brown?

twins? maybe subconsciously. i never thought of that. it's funny cuz i made a similar piece before that one. It was two biomorphic pots conjoined. Classmates were saying it looked like boobs. I wasn't happy with that analogy.
