Bible with room for notes

I'm looking for a New King James Version bible with room to write notes in the margins. Any suggestions? It'd be great if it was like a slimline version. yeah yeah. i want a slim version, but with room for notes--kinda contradictory. But still, it would be oh so nice.

A Google search for "bibles" brought up lots of results. You might try a Froogle search for the same.

do they make such things? i would think that bible-makers would not want anyone writing inside such sacred-held text. isn't that sacreligious or something? is that allowed?

oh! it's great to write notes and thoughts in the Word--that means It's being studied and thought about. You can come back to your notes and revisit ideas on particular verses. Or share learnings with others.

It's very exciting, because then reading the Bible is really studying it and applying it to your life. I like it when Pastor James mentions in his sermons how certain versions of the Bible have different words. Or the greek origins of certain words. It brings such a fuller understanding...

For instance in the New King James Version John 14:16 Jesus says about the Holy Spirit, "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--" In the NIV version "Helper" is "counselor." The Greek word for Counselor is parakletos. Para means to the side of. Kletos means to "to call." So Counselor is like "to call alongside." The Holy Spirit comes along side of you to comfort. That's so cool. Unlike enemies with confront you and attack you. Or mean critics who stand behind you and discuss. The Holy Spirit is along side you.

So with these little notes, it's really neat to help us learn. Yes, we should revere it as a sacred text. But we should also hold it in our hearts and minds.

People write in and highlight text in all kinds of books, including the bible.

The trick to writing in Bibles, though, is to figure out which pens and highlighters are acceptable. Some of them bleed through the pages, and that's not fun at all. :o(
