by play #11, i was getting kinda annoyed by the song. But now at 13, it's sounding good again. This might be a roller coaster ride!

The setting. Wearing headphone buds in a typical corporate environment at the Tribune Tower in Chicago. There is snow on the ground. So I feel inspired by the song... well, sorta.

It's more challenging to listen to the song over and over with earbuds, instead of just speakers. With speakers it just fades into everything else. But with buds, it invades your head.

While listening to play count 16, I get kinda sad realizing that listening to the song so many times will pretty much make the song no longer a song of the middle 90s for me. But now it will known to me as "the song that i listened to non-stop one day at work." Do i really want to ruin my great memories of Informer from high school?

Play #19, I got a video with sound from a friend, but i'm gonna have to listen to it with Snow in the background. Maybe the video will be about snow, so then it will be nice to have in the background Snow for the snow.

Play #23, with listening to this song over and over again, i feel as though there should be some sort of amazing revelation. Like finding the fine details of the song and how this rhythm matches with that rhythm. But i don't know anything about music. Which is probably a good thing, because for a music expert, this song would probably drive them nuts.

play #24, trying to create a pdf. but having all sorts of problems. I wonder if this song is going magnify my distress over the pdf. Or will this song pacify me. Or maybe it's the song that is making me have problems making this pdf.

play # 27, it has now been a straight two hours of listening to this song (started at 10:52am), and surprisingly, i'm not annoyed. Despite this pdf problem i'm facing.

play #32, do you think that two hours sounds more impressive than six hours? Six just sounds ridiculous. While two hours seems much more feasible. Like "I listened to Snow's Informer for two hours straight one day" actually sounds for real. Like someone would actually do that. But listenting to it for six hours straight is stupid. Like six hours is me doing it just so i say i did it. While two hours sounds like i just listened to it for that much cuz i really like it.

play #36, hunger is setting in. it's 1:34pm. I wish i prepared a lunch by my desk. I didn't foresee the addicting nature of this song. Informer has me under his trance.

is it like a chant-y song? that's what's buzzing around in my head, in my recollection of this song. not really rap, more dance-y? are you dancing in your chair at work? are you bopping around? i do that unconsciously in the school computer lab, when i'm podding with my iPod.

I bought "12 inches of Snow" the other day. Walked in to the local music shop and ther it was in the $10.00 bin. Awesome!!! I drove around at work with it in the car (I am a cop) and funnily enough I was more inclined to listen to Informer over and over again than to listen to the rest of the cd. Basically every lyric is the same on about ten differnet (vaguely) sounding tunes. Informer was by far the one I would prefer to destroy my brain to. Good CHoice.

I am a cop and i have no idea what the hell Snow is going on about when he says the cops whipped his pants down and looked up his bottom. I like to listen to it daily. I have been doing this for like the last 4 days. It is really funny. Buju says he will "defend his potion but not in Snowmotion" and also they say it is a Snownament.

I too was searching for lyrics and stumbled across this page... it's pretty crazy to think you would torture yourself with constant repeat listening to this song...although, it probably does get close to a hundred listens before you might begin to understand what the hell this guy is saying ! It is amazing that the the song made it all the way here to New Zealand and even got air time on radio, I remember buying the cassette single in the early nineties and how disappointed I was when it got pinched from my car... luckily I have it on my ipod now so can reminisce any time I feel the need... oh, and can anyone tell me what the hell "a licky boom-boom down" means ?

I remember Snow. Mainly because he's Canadian (like me). I vaguely recall he spent some time in jail. So if that translates to street cred, there you have it.

If you can't understand the lyrics that's because it's in patois which is what they speak in Jamaica. Sort of a mix of English, French and made up words. I was just in Jamaica and when you hear patois, you can catch the odd word but you never understand the gist of the converstation. Just like "Informer".

I remember being amazed that a white guy could actually sing/rap in patois.

A WHOLE WEEK of informer? wow. That is certainly a challenge. Although the 57 consecutive plays that I did was non-stop-headphones-on-my-head, no taking off of headphones at any time.

If anything, it's hard to be able to devote that much time to not listening to anything or anyone else. No phone interrruptions or people.

But it's also interesting to just have it play on your mp3 player non-stop for a week, even if you do take a potty break now and then.

Well Ive completed one day and Ive just began (half hour ago) my second day and play count it 62.

Hehe, came across your blog whilst oddly searching for some audio recordings of Snow, as I downloaded Informer and it had an intro of him, broadcast on some radio show. He was trying to fit his part, acting all cool, unconvincingly. And at the end of his intro, just when my face was had gone past the point of tingling with imbarassment for him, and was nearing spasm, he uttered the words "Chill ya blood" Great stuff. I simply wanted to hear more from him, as he sounds so entertaining.
