i am in the exact same situation.

My whole life I have been very clear that I love the Cubs and hate the Sox.

I don't understand why people have expected to start cheering the Sox in the playoffs. I am clear with people that my whole life that I love the Cubs and hate the Sox. Why should I change my ways? Simply because the Sox are winning? That's insane. It would be completely hypocrital of me to support the White Sox.

I want to fill the bandwagon with gasoline-drenched white socks and burn it to the ground.

I say, why not cross the river and march up Michigan Avenue? I'd like to see the party in Pioneer Court, which is right in front of a major newspaper and baseball team owner. If anything good can come out of this the Cubs and the Tribune should be embarrassed into accountability. They should have to watch the parade and the party right outside their front door if only to make them think a little harder about what baseball means to this city and its fans and what the Tribune can do for the rest of us.

Now on the other hand, I hope all you Cubs fans enjoy being the worse team of Chicago and how this is a Sox orientated town. Yes people bandwagon I agree, yet I've been hardcore fan all my life and watch every game, but that's no different than the Bulls winning. So don't root for the Sox, I can care less, but I hope you enjoy the atmosphere of a stadium with not the reputation of a great ballpark, so many dumb drunk bastards at the game give people beer goggles to a stadium I think and need to be drunk to put up with them honestly. That's just me, I'm one of those so called ignorant fans who apparently talking about a team with a franchise who hasn't even had winning seasons half the time, a team who still doesn't own more World Series rings, and a team who doesn't own the best record in baseball still. I applaud spudart for having the balls to patiently support his team, and not hopping on the bandwagon of a team just because they are winning. I have been a White Sox fan all my life, and for the rest of you White Sox fans upset that he doesn't root for them, ask yourselves why you didn't root for the Cubs when they were in the playoffs and our team wasn't. Some was from simple ignorant hate, but most was out of loyalty to your team. Let the man suffer with pride. It personally make me more irritated seeing someone cheering for my team that just last year supported the rival and trashed our team. I figure the true Sox fans should enjoy the ups, because we sure endured the lows, and so should fans of all the other teams. So for me, support your own team, not mine just because they are winning.

Hmmm... a lucky team with 99 wins in a season, huh? Last place in the next season, huh? Yea right, better check the standings again.

i love how people outside the city don't get that sox fans can't cheer for cubs and cubs fans can't cheer for the sox. we can be happy for our friends that are fans of the opposing team but cheering, no. im a white sox fan [born and raised] but i can't help but feel for cubs fans. you guys have the talent there. go white sox!
