I case you're wondering where I came up with this list. I was laying in bed thinking about how the word "euro" sounded funny. I realized that it has three vowels in it. This list came from looking in the dictionary for all the words that start with two vowels. So I looked up the words that start with aa, ae, ai, ao, au, ea, ee, ei, eo, eu, ia, ie, ii, io, iu, oa, oe, oi, oo, ou, ua, ue, ui, uo, and uu.

these are helpful for those times in scrabble when you have all vowels. but what about when you have no vowels?

are there any words that have just consonants and no vowels? TV is not considered a word by Scrabble®.

As far as I know [and remember from 9th grade English] there are no words in English that have no vowels, except invented words and abbreviations [like nth or Mrs.]

SH used to urge silence (shh)

These three are 'words' according to some scrabble site I found.

Here is a tidbit that might come in handy... the word 'CWM' is an acceptable scrabble word that has no vowels.

it's the name of the boy plainsmen warrior in the film never ending story - i used it as a gamin name for years until i recently realised that fact about the voewls which was awesome cos i've always loved the name on so many levels and then to realise something as unique and meaningful as that only made it all the more amazing....
