I never carry cash. Every time a beggar comes up to me I say "sorry, I don't have any cash" . Most of the time they don't believe me and get angry.

I always try to carry a handful of nickels and dimes. So when someone asks me for money, I just hand them the first three coins I grab out of my pocket.

She doesn't do it on purpose but it is really funny when my wife gets offered a street wise. She takes it and thanks them excessively and then walks away with it.

I just got to the point where I was discriminating on who I would give money to and who I wouldn't so I just stopped altogether. I don't trust most "homeless" people anymore either. There are some people on the street who make their living being beggars ... and then get in their car parked a few blocks away and drive home. I'd rather give money to organizations that assist people who make the effort to request it. Handing money to strangers on the street isn't solving anything.
