Paul Konerko without the "ko" is Paul Koner.
Tom, you sound like a ninja master!
Moose, you are right. Look at how lame Konkerko's name is without the "ko." If I were the White Sox GM, I would have one night where all the players names are announced with a "ko" at the end. Let us take last night's lineup as an example.
Owensko
Iguchiko
Thomeko
Konerko
Pierzynskiko
Dyeko
Mackowiakko
Fieldsko
Uribeko

would you announce Paul Konerko as "Paul Konerko" or "Paul Konerkoko". It's gotta be Konerkoko.
Don't forget Ryan Klesko, from The Giants.

If you do this, I would advise you to stay out of Japan. Having Ko at the end of one's first name is extremely common and was a hugely popular trend in the baby boomer generation, which is why so many young Japanese people have Ko at the end of their first names.
A foreigner adding Ko to their last name may look very funny to them.
Just a heads up. :D
