interesting . . . naturally, i would think my neighborhood is more walkable than yours. . . the Jewel grocery store, dry cleaners, and other places to name a few.
not sure about the system they used. they calculated everything north of my address, which is sparse. when i entered a similiar east-west address as my own, but two blocks south of my street, the walk-ability score sky-rocketed. 1 point more than your 'hood - spud.

My neighborhood ranked 28. The site is completely inaccurate.
First of the site correctly identifies that there is "bookstore" .15 miles away from my house. It neglects to mention that the books sold are exclusively porn and you would have to swim across a pond, jump a fence and wade through waist high weeds to get there.
The next closest place of interest would be the Jewel Grocery Store that is .68 miles away. Wait! There is no jewel there. It is actually a plant nursery ... the closest grocery store is 6 miles away.
The site missed the fact that there is an elementary school and Junior High School at the end of our street.
It did however correctly identify that there is a ladies workout express .61 miles away.

Andy.. sounds like quite a trek to get to the "bookstore". How do you know the weeds on the other side of the fence are waist high? :P
But seriously, it did seem to skew my neighborhood negatively as well. I'm less 5 minutes walking from the downtown, and there's a decent amount of stuff to do down there. Nothing particularly interesting to me, but it's still there.

Yeah andy, how deep is that pond?
That elementary school is pretty new, no? Yes? no? Yes? I like asking things and finishing it with "no?"
Ladies workout express .61 miles away. There is a Women's Workout World .39 miles away from me. Funny how we know the EXACT distance.
This test thing is a bit weird. It considers White Hen to be a grocery store. uh. NOT. And then it didn't even count the super cool theatre three blocks away from me.

Ok Ok... Now that I am "exposed". The pond is only 2 feet deep. A good pair of slickers will get you halfway there during the dry season There are a few broken slats where one can slip through the fence and follow a well worn path through the waist high weeds to the "bookstore".
Yea, The elementary school somewhat new. It has been there for 4 years.
Perhaps it is all because our neighborhood is < 5 years old. Still the address of the Jewel that it claims is less than a mile maps to over 6 miles away on google maps.

78. Guess that's why I have a ZipCar account. Though, even if it were higher, I would still have ZipCar for the biweekly trip to the grocery store.

. I believe that walk score is cool, but nowadays more and more people prefer to drive cars. Homes are often located in an area where some establishments are easier to get to by car than on foot. I've recently found a type of service on Fizber which is called Drive Score. It shows a map of what establishments are in your neighborhood and calculates a Drive Score based on the number of places within a convenient driving distance.

Thanks Mary! I've used that drive score service and was surprised how useful it can be!
