don't you feel like your facebook page gets too busy when you have tons of applications on it? i just ignored someones invitation to be a vampire. i feel kinda bad about it.

Stacey, as a designer I'm especially sensitive to when layouts get too busy. But i'm willing to make an exception for Facebook, because content will always triumph over form. The content in the apps for Facebook certainly makes it work while to have a profile that looks more busy.
Now MySpace on the other hand is the opposite. They allow people to pimp out their profiles, emphasizing the form. They haven't opened up their platform to developers to make apps, so their content is extremely limited compared to the content available on Facebook.
Plus Facebook does a good job organizing the content. They keep a structured, organized scheme. They have consistent dividers for each application on a person's profile. It really helps organize all that mass of content.
It's a good thing Facebook doesn't allow people to pimp out their profiles with black text on black backgrounds, ala MySpace. It would just be mass chaos.
So in the end it really comes to this:
Facebook is about content.
MySpace is about form.

How does facebook organize it properly? I have a whole bunch of applications I chose to "hide" because I couldn't handle them all.
Agreed a/b myspace. Sometimes I have to hide when I see certain profiles to prevent a seizure.
