The McDonalds by me closes at night, but the drive-thru is open 24 hours. They don't let you walk up to the drive-thru, but they let you come via bicycle. But how about a kick scooter? Or maybe roller blades?

They got a little miffed when I went through the Taco Bell drive-thru on rollerblades; and gave me a stern warning. But it was late and the walk up stuff was closed.
As someone without a car, drive-thru discrimination gets on my nerves. Sometimes us pedestrians need some 3am Taco Bell, too! Ugh, and don't even get me started on the spelling of "Late Nite Drive Thru"...
I don't understand why they get upset if you walk up to a drive-thru sans car. The only thing I can think of is that they are afraid that a car coming through the drive-thru will not see you and run you over. But that's really the car driver being a complete idiot. It's still a parking lot. The drive-thru is not a designated street.
Businesses need to get their priorities straight. If someone wants Taco Bell at 2am and the only the drive-thru is open, then they should be happy to serve you. Sheesh. Talk about customer service.
Draw some headlights and wheels on a big cardboard box and put it around your waist.
But seriously, I bet if you brought a flashlight with you, then they really couldn't complain. You can say that the other cars can see you easily cuz you have a flashlight.
