Does Chicago ever get colder than the South Pole?
As Antartica experiences its summer season, Chicago gets hit with winter. Often it gets super cold in Chicago, and it makes me wonder if we ever get colder temperatures than Antartica. And I'm talking South Pole, Antartica.
On January 18, 2008, Chicago was just 14 degrees warmer than the South Pole at 3:50am.

Chicago: 9.8°
South Pole: -5.8°
Difference: Chicago warmer by 14 degrees
January 19, 2008, 6:50am
Chicago: -2.9°
South Pole: -18.4°
Difference: Chicago warmer by 15.5 degrees
