My office doesn't play any music either. Some of us have radios at our desks, but complaints by (jealous) employees prevent me from playing mine. I've mentioned before that at my old job the IT guys put iTunes on everybody's computers. That was pretty sweet. I do think having music in the office is a good thing, but I can see the problem if music is piped in and everybody wants to hear something different, or management doesn't take a consensus.

I listen to whatever Pandora thinks I'm gonna like. It's been getting that pretty wrong lately.. but still.

Liars -- I always hear the bass thumping from the ceiling here on 13. You guys need to keep the partying to a minimum. ;-)
My friend is sick and tired of his coworkers selection of music: jazz and really really really bad 80's music. Unfortunately, he cannot wear headphones because he needs to listen for the intercom.

haha! can you hear us having chair races in the hall too?
Do you guys actually can hear each other's music? Oh wait, this is a friend you speak about, not necessarily someone in the tower. I was about to say, 'intercom? since when does 13 have an intercom?' Say did you know that 14 has a 14th floor pencil sharpening club?

Yes, I was very jealous of your club. I was so relieved when they finally ordered mechanical pencils on 13.
I think I've heard a chair race once. Either that, or someone was throwing around a monitor or something.
Nearly everyone on 13 wears headphones. It's funny trying to get people's attention. Most people use IM. I sometimes use paper airplanes.

No music is played at my office and I love it. Silence is beauty.
My former cubicle neighbor would rarely blast music through his headphones. I still remember the day when he was blasting Counting Crowes through his headphones and it drove me nuts.
It's also quite annoying when you can barely hear someone else's music. Often just a bass is heard and it's like a little gerbil clawing very slowly at my ankles.
I'm certain that I fall into a certain category. I don't like to listen to my favorite music at work cuz I don't want the music to be tainted by work.
I just stream Bloomberg radio at my desk.

My office is the most depressing place in the world. i guess like all offices. It's grey, cold, not a drop of color, the sounds that I hear are the keyboards and the picture that I see is the Commercial Mailboxes that I have to check everyday. There's no music.
