Don't think of just the chicken. Think of all the other stuff they put between the buns. I bet the sauce is the major culprit in the high cholesterol for the grilled chicken sandwich.
People need to be very conscious about sauces and dressings that restaurants put on their "healthy" choices. I never get any sort of sauce on my grilled chicken sandwiches. It's a little bit harder to buy a salad and not use the dressing, but the dressing does major damage.
I'm with moose. Consider the entire sandwich.
Too, contrary to popular belief, a properly fried item is not always loaded with fat and cholesterol. If there is mayonnaise or dressing on the grilled sandwich and none on the fried sandwich, there could well be more fat, calories and cholesterol in the grilled item.

It just really frustrates me that McDonalds puts on this hat like they are all healthy. "oh look GRILLED chicken. OH GRILLED chicken. That's so much HEALTHIER." Bullsh*t. And then you look at the nutrition stats, and all this time I've been filling my ateries with cholesterol with GRILLED chicken. And yeah yeah, people are going to respond "well, that's McDonalds for ya." To me that's not enough of a response. McDonalds is able to get away with "Oh that's McDonalds for ya." But when McDonalds puts on this healthy hat, when they aren't... It's just frustrating.

I agree with you. All fast food is about advertising that will lure people into the restaurant. Commercials and print ads are very carefully worded so as to make it look like they are selling you something more healthful when in fact they often are not. The fact is that fat is flavor. Even the grilled chicken on a grilled chicken sandwich was probably grilled on a well-oiled grill and likely with one of the less-healthy oils. Add mayo or special sauce and/or cheese and watch the numbers fly.
I remember a story a couple of years ago that came out about one of McD's new salads. It had the same amount of fat grams as a Big Mac, but because people were eating a salad, they never would have thought to compare it to a Big Mac in terms of nutrition.
There is tremendous value in this post. It proves that people should not be mislead by smoke and mirrors and should always read labels and make choices that fit their lifestyle.

Matt, begin the crusade. When I want to eat healthy food, the first thought that pops into my head? McDonald's, of course. But that's only because there isn't a Jack in the Box close by.

I feel like the only way to know you're eating healthy is to make it yourself. So sad that restaurants make things so terribly. I had 1/2 serving of fajitas at Chilis once, only to look up the nutrition info when I got home to find that their fajitas have twice the amount of sodium a person needs in an entire day!

Maybe we should all just eat Kashi all day, every day.

I hate McDonalds. I'm sorry for those who like it, but it's taste is absolutely awful. I prefer KFC instead of MC. And of course, I don't trust in their tables or whatsoever. I go to MC only when it's late in the night and I have no other option.

This is the first time when you notice this? I saw time long time ago and this is not the only fast-food with this kind of problems. KFC, u know, Kentucky Fried Chicken, has the some errors. Maybe there will b someone who will have the guts to solve this problems once in for all.
