I also realized this morning that McCain rhymes with pain. This whole ticket is full of pain! They should have played House of Pain at Republican convention

I love me some House of Pain ... the song that is

I don't think they would have gotten permission to use that song.. but that didn't stop them before. :-/

You're probably right. I'm sure there is plenty of country music and musicians out there that would give them permission though ... and if not, then they'd probably have to go the way of finding something in the public domain ... like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Public domain? psh.. not republicans!
"TMZ.com is reporting that Ann and Nancy Wilson are upset that their 1977 rock hit "Barracuda" was used without their permission in the Xcel Energy Center at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul."

As an update to Sparx' previous post, despite the Wilson's (and presumably Sony as well) lawsuit, the Repubs are STILL using their song!
Here's what I don't get: That song is sooo not an "election-y" song:
"If the real thing dont do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooh, barracuda"
What about that screams "Vote for me"???

Palin's nickname is Barracuda.

On the croquet courts I'm known as the Mauler.

From Wikipedia:
Barracudas occur both singly and in schools around reefs, but also appear in open seas. They are voracious predators and hunt using a classic example of lie-in-wait or ambush. They rely on surprise and short bursts of speed (up to 27mph (43 km/h) to overrun their prey, sacrificing maneuverability.
Oh the joke potential! I can't pick just one!

If a maverick and a barracuda gets in a fight who wins?
Or perhaps the better question... what do you get when a maverick marries a barracuda for his third wife?
Posted by: spudart on Sep 09, 08 | 4:14 pm
The 2008 Republican nominees. Ha!
