IDEA: Email Trader Joes with a location request

Everyone loves Trader Joes--the grocery store with fun food and delightful employees. Trader Joes even has a location request form on their website.

Here's my location request that I sent to them today:

===================

Want to know the best new place to put a trader joes? I'll tell you where. In the bustling city of Chicago, there lies a neighborhood that has a lack of grocery store options. That neighborhood is right where I live--in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago.

I'll tell you the nexus of the lack of grocery stores. Right at my my intersection. There are no grocery stores within sight. In fact, there is a blank open field just READY for you to build upon. And it's right next to my apartment! It's on Lawrence (a nice high-traffic street) between Bell and Leavitt.

I tell you what. This IS the perfect spot for the next Trader Joes. This location used to be home to D&L Laundry at 2206 W Lawrence Ave. But it got torn down last year, and nothing is getting built at this location. 2206 W Lawrence Ave is YOUR location. 2206 W Lawrence Ave is THE spot for the next great Trader Joes.

I know it would be nice for you to have a Trader Joe's next to your place, but there is one not far from where you work, spud ;)

That'd be a perfect place for Trader Joes. There's not enough Trader Joes in Chicagoland. Keep building, Trader Joe!

nice idea, but isn't the lincoln/addison trader joe's pretty close? i fear that will be their response.

anyway, have you been to shirt.woot.com? you should submit some of your clever cartoons for a shirt! you can win 1k!

Stacey, that's what one of my co-workers said. Actually, she was telling me about how she emailed Trader Joes about getting a location near her down on the near west side. Apparently the nearest grocery store to her is 7 blocks away. I'd say she has a greater need than me.

I submitted my request to Trader Joes and told her that she should resubmit her request and tell 'em that guy up in Lincoln Square is crazy and to ignore me. haha. That would be hilarious. Can you imagine being over at Trader Joes customer service and getting two requests for chicago in one day, and then you get a third request saying that one of the original requests is from a crazy man?! HILARIOUS!

oh and yes, i mean, no. I have not been to shirt.woot.com.

*minutes later*

yes, i have been to shirt.woot.com! The shirts on there are much more clever than my cartoons. ALTHOUGH, i was thinking of drawing up more cartoons and actually doing a comic strip. One of these days! About a month ago I even bought some non-photo blue pencils. Or are they photo blue. Or wait, i thtink they are called non-reproduction blue. Anyways, i still haven't used them.

I've decided to go to Trader Joe's in shifts. One day I'll go and just get their earth-friendly laundry detergent -- since I'm taking the bus, a big bottle of laundry detergent is probably enough of a pain in the arse to carry.

Next, I'll get two 6-packs of Hansen's Diet Root Beer.

*sigh*

I really hope the kind folks at TJ's take pity on me and build one closer than the one on Superior!

I have your solution, lisa. And it's called "bicycle." Actually, it's "bicycle with cargo carrier" I have one on my bike. I need to use my bike more often.

I have been trying to get Trader Joe's to open in Florida for years!
I live in Orlando and we have two Wholefoods and three Chamberlins, besides a few independent stores.
They are very expensive and Wholefoods has become incredibly commercialized.
I understand from the Nashville Trader Joe's staff - that's where I shop when I'm in town visiting my kids, that for a few years, TJ did not open any new stores due to the recession, but that they are back on track.
How come Florida is not back on the list? I see that there are numerous stores in and around Atlanta GA and South Carolina and it is now time for TJ's to put their stamp on the shores of Florida! I am through begging!
Please make this happen!
