Everyone should have an Amazon wish list.
1. It's handy for yourself to keep track of things you want.
2. It helps keep you from making unneeded spontaneous buys. (When you see an item that interests you, put it on your wish list and see if you still want it 24 hours later)
3. People might buy you stuff.
Below is a widget containing the recent items I've added to my list.
(Facebook users, RSS and email subscribers if you can't see the above widget, go to the Matt Maldre's wish list webpage to view)

Excellent!
Have you bookmarked the "Add to Wish List" element? When you are (window)shopping on sites other than Amazon.com and you find an item you like, you can open your bookmarks and scroll down to the link and add the item to your Amazon.com Wish List! It works on any ecommerce site! I added a Cow Bell from the Vancouver Olympics website to my Wish List!
I haven't tried adding the non-amazon stuff to my wish list. I'm afraid of confusing people who use my wish list. When peeps buy me stuff on my amazon wish list, the expectation is that all the items are coming from amazon.
Tom, do you think it's clear that the item on your wish list is not from amazon? Oh wait. Duh. I could just look at your wish list and see!
