Walgreens shoppers seen digging 650-foot holes around stores

Walgreens opened up a geo-thermal store in Oak Park. TribLocal reports:

The technology functions because of four close-looped, liquid-filled boreholes that extend 650 feet into the ground. The liquid is heated using the Earth's natural temperature, about 55 degrees. Heat is drawn from the liquid when needed to warm the store, or pushed back into the boreholes if cooling is required.
How cool is that! I think I'm gonna dig four 650-feet deep holes around my Walgreens and fill them with geothermal liquid.

Walgreens employee: "uh, what are you doing?"
Me: "oh I'm digging a 650-foot hole in the ground to fill it with geothermal liquid. I'm gonna make four of these around your store."
Walgreens employee: "ooook. Why?"
Me: "So you can save 46% of your store's energy needs!"
Walgreens employee: "Let me help!"

Of course, if this was Pilar I was talking to, she would say, "you want candy?"

(Thanks to Tom for emailing me this story.)

I wonder how CVC will respond to this. Maybe they will dig 750-foot holes.

Knowing CVS, they will dig 250-foot holes, but then line them with carpeting.
