Artist painting of Nolan Ryan 1989 Donruss by rummery_78

%%title%%

Nolan Ryan's 1989 Donruss card is a classic. Ryan getting ready to launch his deadly fastball. The 80's style gradient. The Astros star prominently shown on Ryan's jersey. His right foot firmly planted on the 1989 Donruss logo.

It was a delight to see rummery_78 do a version of this card. I like how the yellow to green gradient is rendered in his markers. That's my most favorite part of his interpretation. I have a special something for that 1989 gradient.

With 50 minutes left in this eBay auction, the Nolan Ryan ACEO art sketch is now up to $12.49 ($3.00 shipping). That's a little too rich for my blood. I wish rummery_78 the best and hope his artwork catches a high premium.

i like the idea of making color field paintings/drawings from baseball card designs. This ACEO inadvertently approaches that. Some day I'll explore baseball cards as color field paintings.
