how to remember which keys work for special character accents, ü î é

I was just looking at these letter combinations used to create accents on letters...

ä ë ï ö ü, option-u is appropriate, because the letter "u" has two prongy thingys that look like two dots.

â ê î ô û, option-i is good, because the letter "i" kinda points up to the sky.

á é í ó ú, option-e is excellent, because the bottom part of an "e" points up on an angle.
