Grade school brown-paper-bag book covers

While riding the bus this morning, I saw someone reading a book with an odd book cover. It made me think, if I was reading that book, I would put a cover over it. Then that reminded me of when we were in grade school, how we would cover our textbooks with brown kraft paper from grocery bags.

How odd that is. Were our parents (or the school) really that concerned that the books would get that dinged up. But then again, we were little kids that would throw our books around and treat 'em like total crap. And those books had to last for over 10 years (which was neat to see what kids had signed their name at the beggining of the book. You know if a big screw-up had a book before you, then you were doomed in that class!)

But really, it was kinda neat, because it allowed us to write on the cover of our books. In essence to personalize our study books. In a way, that gave us kids a psychological ownership and pride in our school books.

Here's what a freak I was: I would go to the stationery store and buy wrapping paper, or the art supply store and buy art paper or to the travel store and buy maps and use those materials to cover my books. Yes, I already said I was a freak ...

ooh, maps! that's an interesting idea...

I loved covering my books.

It was a tradition. And then you could draw all over the covers and the paper bag was kinda fuzzy....

Ah those were the days...

School used to be fun and every day I just couldn't wait to go meet my friends and learn new stuff. I thought the faculty will be the same but it turns out the fun is dead.

I agree that bookcovers were pretty awesome and decided last winter to start a company that does an updated version of the classic paperbag bookcover for grownups. We're just getting started some come check us out at www.bookcityjackets.com

We are the manufaturer of synthetic brown cover.........Synthetic Brown Paper for Note Book Covers

The Synthetic Brown paper developed is an excellent substitute for the laminated brown paper covers that are available in the market which are used to cover notebooks by school children.

It has many advantages against normal brown paper like:
A) It is similar to brown paper covers and aesthetic paper look and feel as it is embossed.
B) It is water proof ,
C) It is non-tearable and durable as against the paper covers that get torned after 2-3 months of use.
D) It dose not have any wrinkles or creases like paper covers.

The synthetic brown paper is available in two forms of packaging, sheets & rolls. For further enquiry pls contact on my mail id rohitsuhasaria@gmail.com
