I had the same problem when I got my loft in Springfield. I had to have a couch that was totaly different than any one else. I ended up finding a brown vinal couch w/fringe hanging on the arms and back. That wasnt the selling point though it also has an 8-track stereo built in the arm under the cushion and speakers in the back. Every thing works and I havent heard of any one else who has even heard of such a thing.

get an inflatable sofa. just don't wear golf spikes when sitting on it, and make sure to keep all porcupines away.
