i saw those camera people too. i though they were surveyors. also, one day last week my photo teacher sent us all into grant park to shoot stuff, and i noticed a lot of other people shooting as well - i thought it was all the photo classes, but maybe i was wrong.

this is funny, my friend went down to this - you had to fill out a bio and give a head shot. on his bio he mentioned that he loves karaoke (because he wanted to be a lounge singer all dressed up in a suit in the movie) so they called him back monday and said they wanted him to play a "shady character" heh. a shady character.......

i also saw the surveyor people out on the near west side, around 1400 w. randolph. batman apparently likes to frequent the formerly-industrial newly-gentrified condo-loft areas.

They're filming "BATMAN BEGINS." It's a restart of the entire Batman franchise. It's no Schumacher movie, THANK GOD! It's directed by "Insomnia" and "Memento" director, Christopher Nolan. The movie stars, Christian Bale (Equilibrium), Gary Oldman (The Fifth Element), Katie Holmes (Phone Booth), Michael Caine (Secondhand Lions). It comes out June 17, 2005. Trust me, it'll rock! Saw some Dark Knight filming Sat (7-7) night from my sister's condo on N. State St. We watched via binoculars for a few hours as Gordon and Batman traded lines on top of Police HQ. There was also a large spotlight up there, presumably the Bat Signal. Very fun to watch with my 9-year old son. Cool!!

I was listening to 101.9 (WTMX) on Saturday, and they were announcing a casting call at 1010 W. Chicago Ave.
(I think this is the Chicago Academy of Arts?) . I remember the address, but they said you had to show up in person with a current color picture and a pen.
I don't know if they are still casting, but will be filming until the end of August. Hope this helps.
