These prices are based on amazon's price on July 12, 2005. I don't know if they will change in the near future.
Even though my Canon PowerShot S110 Digital Elph is not on the official list of supported cameras (it's 4 years old), I tried the
test apple recommended, and my camera is indeed supported. :-)
I have the iPod mini in silver. We could be iPod buddies! Ha! I love it, but then again I didn't pay for it. It was a gift. I recently bought the Bose SoundDock for iPods [that wasn't a gift]. The combination is unbeatable.
I just edited this post, before I mentioned that you also need the the Special Dock (
Amazon $37.05<img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=artiwu03&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />). But according to this
apple page, you don't need the special dock.

Thanks spud! Mine will be here today. (the 20GB photo!) Has anyone tried the photo connector with a Canon S45? According to their test it says it should work, but I guess I could always return it if it didn't.
Man oh man. I was in
London back in March. I could have used this
ipod photo. I forked over
$120 to get two 512 MB Compactflash cards from Office Max (60 bucks for each card).
I already had a 256MB card. If Amazon offered the $289 ipod photo in March, then I could have used that $120 to invest in the ipod rather than the stupid memory cards.
I even did research to see what external hard drives I could use to store my photos. Nothing was cheaper than
$150. That's a 20 GB hard drive. It has slots for all the different memory cards.
So it's:
$120 for two 512MB compactflash cards.
$150 for a 20 GB external drive that only stores photos (4.9" x 2.9" x 1.2") and requires an AC adapter, so it's not portable. the screen is black and white. you can't preview your photos. the screen is for navigation only.
$289 for a 20 GB ipod photo that stores your photos. (2.4" x 4.1" x 0.63") and is completely portable with 15 hours of battery life. It has a color screen so you can view your photos easily. And you can podcast (download radio programs to listen to). Oh yea, and it plays your music obviously.
At least the memory cards will last longer than the ipod. Don't the batteries in those things only last a few years?
