Does Chicago ever get colder than the South Pole?

And if you think the recent cold temperatures we've had so far in February might get close... So far the coldest temperature in February for Chicago is 3 degrees. At the South Pole, the warmest temperature for February is -29. So It looks like Antartica is losing its summer already and temperatures are totally dropping out of our reach in Chicago.

Hmm, maybe our "feels like"/wind chill temperature gets colder than the actual South Pole temperature?

Wow. I think if it's this cold again I should call in to work and say "You know, it's only 14 degrees warmer than the south pole. That's reason enough to stay home. "
