Is the new Ghostbusters movie trying to make a twisted spin on the Disney Frozen series? [Ghostbusters Trailer] Obviously, there isn’t anything about Elsa or Anna in the movie. Or is there? All those frozen spikes and ice daggers appearing from the ground seems like an Elsa tool. “Frozen” is even in the movie’s name—Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Imagine if the big bad was actually Elsa.
Even the font in the Ghostbusters trailer looks like the font from Frozen. This is from Ghostbusters at the 1:07 mark:

Doesn’t the font look pretty close?
Now, how about the spikes? Here are screenshots from the Ghostbusters trailer showing all the spikes.

Oh, wait. These aren’t from Ghostbusters. They are from Frozen 1. (at the 1:40 mark in the Frozen trailer)
Is this Elsa? Doesn’t Elsa wear a long gown?

I can’t wait to see what Evil Elsa is up to in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Frozen was released a decade ago in 2013, which means that the young girls who once adored Elsa and Anna might now be of an age to enjoy films geared towards a more mature audience, such as Ghostbusters. Imagine a fresh, darker take on Frozen!
In our home, my seven and four-year-old daughters have been eagerly anticipating updates on Frozen 3. They’re definitely in for an unexpected treat with this latest installment of the Frozen saga.
This is an excellent point. I didn’t notice all of the similarities until you mentioned it. It would be cool if it were an evil Elisa fairytale. A unique spin on it all.
I’m waiting for the Duke of Weselton to appear in Ghostbusters.
The Ghostbusters franchise hasn’t just jumped the shark. It’s nuked the fridge.

Grabbed their proton packs off their back and they split
This is a great write up! In October I made a Frozen movie poster that was ghostbusters themed without knowing the movie had frozen in the actual title.
Oh wow! Your poster is incredible!
• The lighting is really great. It ties everything together—the Northern lights at the top as border, the taillights as a way of bringing the viewers eyes into the center. And the Ecto’s blue lights to highlight Olaf-StayPuft.
• Olaf-StayPuft is just the perfect combination. Pretty hilarious when you consider the Stay Puft’s tagline is “Stays puft when toasted”—and that Olaf is a snowman, so toasting a snowman… “The hot and the cold are both so intense. Put them together? It just makes sense!”
• Everyone standing on snow gives a nice common ground to the scene.
• Of course, that logo! Putting the Ghostbusters logo in the center of Frozen. BRILLIANT.
• All their body language is spot on. Kristoff, leaning on the fin like cool dude. Anna coolly leaning up against the car. Elsa standing firm with both feet solidly on the ground.
• Tossing in Hans as Walter Peck (EPA inspector)—hilarious how they kinda look alike.
That’s quite the complement! Thanks so much. I heavily combined elements of both the Ghostbusters 1984 posted and the Frozen poster the best I could. Josh Gad saw it and liked it as well.
I also did a larger one of most of the Disney princesses. Jason Reitman was kind enough to share it on his Instagram stories.
Long story short there is a love between Ghostbusters and Frozen for sure!
