Serenity03 was the inspiration to make this post, because she quoted something from ghandi on her livejournal.

Here’s an example of my handwriting: http://angieandbilly.com/ I switched from cursive to printed caps during high school and changed certain letters (such as my E and G) during college.

    Y, oh Y?!

I’ve always liked your printing, Matt. I used to write my “g” like yours, then I stopped. Then I was re-introduced to it when I saw your version, now I write it like you more often than not. If I can figure out a way to post my printing I will. I dated an architect who had that architect printing and I stole it, practicing on dozens and dozens of sheets of paper until I got it right. Now I have a modified version of it that I use.

I love architectural printing. That’s what inspired me to change my handwriting.

a-hem, not to brag. But in high school, i competed at the state level for mechanical drawing, and i got a perfect score for lettering. (not that can tell with my current handwriting)

    I’m impressed!

Didn’t you say “not to brag”? ;^”> I’ve never won any awards for my printing or handwriting, but I do get paid for my own version of calligraphy.

I concur…I am also impressed, my dear friend. Do you have any samples saved?

  13. Matt Maldre January 30, 2004 at 2:16 pm #

The “Studio” is under major reconstruction. Maybe you can help me design a page that will produce results. Right now I am relying on referals instead of going after new business myself. The other “issue” is that people go to my site for Food. Maybe I need another site for my Studio

  15. Matt Maldre January 30, 2004 at 2:20 pm #

oooh another site! wowee kazowee! TomStudio! Tom’s Tudio!

  16. Matt Maldre January 30, 2004 at 3:30 pm #

crud. tomstudio.com is taken. Check that site out. He doesn’t deserve to have tomstudio. Don’t you wish you could challenge owners of websites to a rock paper scissors challenge to see who gets the domain. Yeah, that would rock…. er or should i say “yeah that would paper.”

  17. Tom Saaristo January 30, 2004 at 3:36 pm #

Yeah I do! I would win! I think we can come up with something a little more fun maybe or clever than tomstudio.com, though I would take it if it was available! :)~

Cool! I did the mechanical drawing thing while in high school, too; only, I was dorkier — I did it as a CLUB, not as a requirement. I hated doing those lettering worksheets, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t help me take nice, legible notes later on in life!

mechanical drawing was fun. trying to figure out how a certain object should exist and be drawn. Visual puzzles. It should be a new game in newspapers… hmm, and i work for a company that syndicates games…

WHOA! I have been looking for EXACTLY this type of program! I’ve always thought it would be SWEEEET to have my own handwriting as one of my font options! This is the post of the year!
