Reverse order numbered list in html?

With HTML, you can make a numbered list by doing the following:

< OL >

< LI >apples

< LI >bananas

< LI >cranberries

< LI >oranges

< /OL >

Which appears like this:

  1. apples
  2. bananas
  3. cranberries
  4. oranges
But is there a numbered list in HTML where the numbers go in reverse order? Starting with the biggest number first and ending with 1?

not that i know of. what you refer to is basic HTML. probably you could make a customized list if you used XML or Javascript or something. i’m not as fancy-pants as that, myself. i’m still learning. there’s always more to learn. why would you want a backwards list anyway?

There’s a JavaScript solution here: reversed HTML lists.

I also need to find a way to do reverse lists. I’ve got an archive of 50 .pdfs that have been published one month at a time for the past few years. Now the client wants them listed from most recent to earliest. Would be helpful if there is a solution.
