The E-11 BlasTech rifle. It’s the standard rifle for Stormtroppers. But why is it called E-11? Is there an E-10? Or an E-9?
A look on the official Star Wars Wiki reveals that there is:
E-5 blaster rifle
E-9 is a spaceship
E-10 is a droid
E-11 is the standard Stormtrooper rifle
And that’s it. There is no other E-number names in Star Wars.
E-1
E-2
E-3
E-4
E-6
E-7
E-8
E-12
In fact there are no E-whatevers going up to E-100.
How do I know? I tried all the URLs. For instance on E-13 I tried http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/E-13. But nothing there. To test 100 URLs would be crazy, so I used a function in a Google spreadsheet to quickly tell me which E-numbers exist. The spreadsheet has 50 functions counting in consecutive order. Each function looked like this: =ImportXML(“http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/E-11”, “//li[@class=”toclevel-1 tocsection-2′]”)
Merging together:
1) an interest in Star Wars
2) an interest in number sequences
3) Google functions
is a beautiful thing.
If there are any letter/number combinations you’d like me to search for in the Star Wars universe, let me know via a comment on this blog, Twitter, Facebook, or Google Plus.
the only M-number in Star Wars is M-18. “Yuuzhan’tar is the Yuuzhan Vong homeworld and the capital of their Empire. Old Yuuzhan’tar was destroyed during the Cremlevian War, resulting in the moon M-18, later known as Zonama Sekot, taking off on its own. “
how about the “R2″s and the “C3″s.
Definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement.
Good!
In Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II, embers of The Exchange carry E-9 blaster pistols. So, while there are ships called the E-9, the E-9 is also a blaster pistol model, presumably from BlasTech Industries.
