The coach and Pope Benedict XVI couldn't be anymore opposite. Pope Benedict XVI is very intellectual while Coach is the epitamy of non-intellect.
Coach is said to be a bit slow cuz he took too many pitches to the head.
While Pope Benedict XVI is said to be the head intellectual architect of John Paul II's papacy.

what adds another strange twist on this is that the Pope's name, Joe Ratzinger, is mysteriously close to Coach's buddy, John Ratzenberger who played Cliff Clavin of Cheers.

did you know that John Ratzenberger is in The Empire Strikes Back? i believe he plays one of the workers in the base on Hoth in the beginning.

Then I remembered... Joseph Ratzinger looks like the evil Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars.

wow. just in time for the next star wars movie. that's a freaky timing coincidence. Though it's a terribly terrible thing to actually compare, but's still a crazy coincidence.
Poor Pope Benny. Let's give the Pope some love. Y'know he wouldn't have all these problems if he named himself "Pope Pourri"
i think anyone would have a hard time following J P II. he's going to get criticized no matter what. it's a tough act to follow.
