I’m organizing my bookmarks in explorer, and I’ve found that I got 2,173 bookmarks. How ridiculous is that?
To find out how many bookmarks you have, export them into a text file, and then do a word search for like, “href”. My twin brother has 4,120. He says he uses 3,000 of them daily.
How many bookmarks do you have?
Maybe I missed something here, since I’m somewhat of a Johnny-come-lately to your blog, but you’re a Mac person, right? How come you don’t use Safari? I’m a born-again bookmark organizer with Safari. True, my IE list is rather endless and haphazardly organized, but my Safari bookmarks are organized — thus far, anyway. ;o)
I have OS 9 at work (and OS X at home). So instead of having two different formats, I just stick with the explorer for both platforms. But then again, maybe the bookmarks between OS 9 explorer and OS X safari can be interchanged with no problems. I never tried that. (i’ve been raising plenty of h3ll to try to get OS X here. We haven’t had a software upgrade here for 3.5 years–since I joined the company. And we won’t have any for another year and a half.)
that’s right. i have reached the 4000 plataueueeue. I have my sight set on 5000 sites.
I constantly purge my bookmarks. There are very few that are “permanent”.
