Fred Claus movie now filming in Chicago

Several movie trucks were lined up on Upper Illinois Ave in Chicago–just north of the Tribune Tower. Taped on one of the doors was a small poster for “Fred Claus” featuring Vince Vaughn. From the imdb: “Joe Claus, Santa’s bitter older brother, is forced to move to the North Pole.”

Does that mean we get to see some more fake snow in Chicago?

According to craigslist, the extras casting director of the movie is looking for someone between the height of “3’6″ to 4’5” for the movie.

Fred Claus, huh? Makes me think back to all those Rankin-Bass cartoons that told the purported life of Santa. I wonder where Fred was hiding in those? Maybe with the Heat Miser?

another santa claus movie? I hope it’s better than that santa claus series from Tim Allen. I can’t stand him. Hopefully Vince Vaughn will be able to pull this off. best Christmas movie EVER: Elf

“Elf” better than “A Christmas Story”? I don’t think so. I’ve only ever seen about 20 minutes of the first “Santa Clause” movie with Tim Allen and couldn’t watch another minute.

My wife is 4’11” and this is the first time she has been too tall. A Christmas Story is a classic but the best recent christmas movie is “The Grinch” with Jim Carrey!

You guys are shooting right outside my place in Wicker Park (Pulaski Park building) wondering if you need anymore extras since I’m on vacation till the 22nd. I’m 5’7″ so don’t fit the height requirement but would love to help out.
