looking for a chicago beach postcard

I’m looking for a postcard of a beach in Chicago. All the Chicago postcards that have a beach in it are primarily skyline or building shots. I would like a postcard where the primary subject matter is the beach in Chicago. Anybody find any?

If you mail me one, I will mail you six Chicago postcards over the next six months. One rule: On the postcard, you have to tell me where you purchased it.

You can mail the chicago beach postcard to:

I’ll take that challenge. I don’t doubt it will be difficult, but I like sleuthing

chicago’s not really known for its beaches. that’s probably why you can’t find a beach postcard easily.

I concur … after some serious sleuthing I came up with nothing. Chicago postcards primarily boast our architecture. Some boast museums and others feature attractions, like Navy Pier, but with little more than two months of real “beach time”, Chicago’s beaches apparently aren’t worthy of a postcard unto themselves.

antique stores are your best bet. especially those antique malls that dozens of individual booths. Find a booth that sells postcards. Usually they have big binders or big boxes with hundreds of cards. I bet there’s a Chicago beach postcard out there. Postcards were really hot in early and mid 20th century.
