The first haiku I wrote in my entire life

The Chicago Tribune published an article about the public art haikus appearing in CTA train stations. I was pleased that people’s comments for this online article were mostly all haikus. So I wrote my own:

I like how seven

of the first eight comments are

some thoughtful haikus.

can someone please explain to me the magic that is haiku? I have known a few cool people in my time who though haikus were the best. I need to be enlightened.

I’m suprised by this. When I was at TMS I was part of a daily haiku exchange (I’ve embraced the haiku for most of my life) You must have really hated the poor haiku since you weren’t a part of that and this is your first. Welcome to the land of haikus … finally! ;O) I was going to reply with a haiku, but my brain isn’t working proper today.

That is a cute haiku, not so much poetic but very clever. Haha. I would have never thought of that!
