Whenever I go to the washroom, I have to first spit out my gum. You know how when you smell something it’s because there are microscopic particles of that smell floating in the air that enter your nose and mouth? Well, if those particles are entering my mouth, I don’t want my gum to become a resevoir of human waste, so i always spit my gum out first. Does anybody else do this too?

i had an ex-boyfriend who had that same theory. he insisted on closing the toilet seat cover before flushing so as not to “contaminate” his toothbrush.
oh, huh. i never thought of that. It’s usually just public washrooms that I do this in. Never really thought about it at home.
don’t base your personal hygiene habits on my ex’s. he was strange in many ways.
oh, not i’m not basing it on him. I’m just saying that i don’t do that. But actually, i do spit out my gum in my home bathroom too. But i’m not a freak about closing the toilet lid while flushing. However, out of respect for females, i do lower the seat. Actually, i close the top lid too, so that way EVERYONE has to lift up something before they go. And those who do the Chi energy thing, they consider an open toilet to be a releaser of bad energy.
My condo is on the market right now and my real estate agent always raises the toilet seat before showing the unit. Maybe all that bad chi is preventing someone from making an offer. I directed a play once that involved someone going into the bathroom. She had been eating cookies and took a cookie into the bathroom with her during rehearsal! She definitely got a director’s note on that one! “Don’t take food into the bathroom!” I’m not a freak about closing the lid, but I do lower it at home more often than not. As far as sanitation goes, isn’t it curious that public toilets don’t have solid lids?

do you spit you gum into the toilet or do you throw it in the garbage? i throw my gum out when i go to the bathroom too, but i never thought about it getting contaminated, it just seemed like a good time to get rid of it….
IN THE TOILET! ha! i never thought of that. I guess one could do that. No, it immediately goes in the garbage can right by the door.
oh, well i spit mine in the toilet. its fun.
