spider sitting in the middle of his web

It’s kinda funny how spiders like to sit right in the very middle of their web. It’s like taking a lawn chair and sitting right in the very middle of your backyard.

I wonder if there is some sort of structural reason for sitting in the middle. Like if it somehow helps to hold the web together better.

I believe I read somewhere it’s because it places the spider equadistant from all points on the web. When something is trapped it moves from center, retrieves it, and moves back “home” By the way, did you know that it IS possible for a spider to get caught in its own web? Some of the silks of a web are sticky and some are not and the spider, over the course of its evolution, has learned to avoid the sticky threads.

Imagine being a spider and getting caught in your own web. How embarrassing.

i want to be like a spider and go to the middle of the world wide web and use that page as my home page. Does anyone know where the center of the world wide web is?
