Take one baseball. One pen. Every person you know signs the same ball, for your entire life. Everyone you know would leave their mark, it’s like a compilation of everyone on one object. It would be interesting to see how full you can get one baseball with signatures.
I’m going to do this (now on my 43 things)

EVERY person I know? My baseball would be black … or blue … or whatever color ink the pen had.
I’m curious how many signatures one baseball can hold comfortably. A baseball signed by a entire major league baseball club is what? 30 or so? I’d think 40 is the max for actual signatures. I’m certain you have met more than 40 people in your life. Just think of high school, Matt. We had about 120 kids in our graduating class. I wasn’t a social guy in high school and I probably had conversations with about half of the kids in our class. That makes for 60. That didn’t even count the kids outside our graduating class (years ahead of us and behind us). And think of all the people you’ve worked with over the years. For me, that number is at least 100+. One baseball would not suffice. Now what would work is one baseball a year. Everyone you know whom you meet socially would sign your baseball. Put a nicely type styled mark showing the year. That way, it would be interestingn to see the different things that the same people would put on the baseballs throughout the years.
what happened to the widget-things on the left column of your homepage showing your latest flickr photo and latest youtube video? As a side note: Hey, Matt, did you know that my rock balancing page about you is the first link on the second result page for a google search for your name? I’m determined to make the page on the first page of results. Here’s the link: http://www.unlikelymoose.com/blog/matt-maldre-amateur-rock-balancer//
I took the flickr widget down, because yahoo’s servers were down this morning. When I tried to load my homepage, everything to the bottom and right of the flickr widget would not load, because yahoo’s server wasn’t dishing out the image. So I temporarily took the code out. The flickr widget IS BACK. hooray! Now for the baseball. I’m gonna do people at work first and see how filled up the ball gets.
But when you consider that someone has written the 10 commandment on a grain of rice, so much more can fit on a baseball. I think it’s a great idea.
