Have you ever heard someone pronounce “Beverly Hills 90210” to be nine-oh-two-TEN? Or how about ninety-twenty-one-ZERO. This show was quite popular when I was in high school, and I’m surprised I don’t recall anyone saying the 90210 part as a different number interpretation.

One time in the early nineties, a faculty member, who was oblivious to the show, looked at it and said it, “nine zero two one zero…? What TV show is that?” 🙂
That’s hilarious! This is probably the same faculty member who sends out electric mails. And asks people for their email number! (My first boss out of college called it that all the time. email number. “Quick, what’s your email number?” ah good times.)
The creator of the show, Aaron Spelling, called the show “Nine Oh Two One Oh”. I DO prefer to call a zero a zero though.
9 oh 2 1 oh what a silly show. Remember when those guys on the show had sideburns and that was all the rage back then? Matt (spudart) grew sideburns in honor of his great fandom for this show.
yeah man. my sideburns were the best.
This is too funny…My mother just said the other day, “Ninety-two-ten” when she was telling me about seeing one of the stars on that show on Dancing With the Stars. HA!
I want to see spudart with some 9 oh 2 1 oh sideburns. This post makes me wonder how people say other zip codes!
“Beverly Hills 90210.” Erm, so how are you pronouncing the number? Technically, in English, that’s ninety thousand two hundred and ten. But in England the show’s number was pronounced “nine oh two one oh”. Americans usually say zero instead of oh, and in English zero is usually oh, despite that really being the letter O.
