went to the paper show last night, it was good. In a nice BIG room, so it wasn’t crazy crowded like it was last year. They gave everyone a card that you can bring to each booth and get it punched. If you get all the vendors to punch your card, you get to enter a raffle to win one of three iPods! Sounds good to me!
Every table always had people at them, even the little ones that normally don’t get as much attention. Personally, I like to approach tables when there are people there. Sometimes I just want to go up and look, and not have someone try to sell me something. But the tables weren’t overly crowded where you couldn’t talk to a sales rep.
The sales reps were very good at being willing to punch people’s cards, even those that clearly didn’t look at anything at their table. Although it makes me wonder if by the end of the night some vendors were annoyed by all the time spent punching cards and being interrupted while talking to someone.
But overall I found it much more comfortable to talk to the sales rep at this show. It’s probably a combination of the structure of the show and me being more knowledgable about paper.
Near the end of the show when I got my card completely punched, I ran into Jim Boborci and Jennifer Mayer. It was the first time that I talked to Jennifer Mayer since we graduated and she was very nice. I’ve run into Jim a few times before, and he’s the same ol’ Jimbo.
