Don’t even tell me that they are serious about building this.
It will thrust 61 stories into the sky, a trio of towers that will dominate Louisville’s skyline.
It will feature an acre-sized “island,” open to the public, that will hover 22 stories in the air. (Courier-Journal and Architecture Chicago)
I feel bad for Louisville.

This is not the only reason to feel bad for St. Louis, dude
hmm. i’d question the stability of the whole thing. i love that angular, metal stabilizing buttress on the left… like it was an afterthought. “oh… we may need to put something here to keep it from falling into the water”.
i’m rolling over in my grave.
And I’m an idiot … for some reason I thought the whole story was about a new structure going up in St. Louis … not Louisville. DURH! I better smarten up! My looks are fading fast!
Its a very cool looking building. Very innovative for a vitiy in Kentucky
What a great chance for Louisville. Design is SUPER! THIS will bring downtown to life!
This design is a radical break from skyscraper-as-icon to utilitarian marketplace in the sky. Louisville is indeed lucky to be the proving ground for such an ambitious and evocative structure. The plan and illustrations clearly take the surrounding riverfront and older brick commercial buildings lining the street into context and allow the towers to rise up and above. This preserves the existing viewshed while enabling the various facilities in the complex to exist within a very limited space. Watching this project reshape the skyline will be fun.
