Chicago Magazine just reported on a newly published photography book that features everyday life in Chicago from 35 years ago. Sounds like an interesting book. The preview images look nice.
Newcity also picked up on Chicago Magazine’s article.

I looked up “Chicago by Mark Steinmetz” on WorldCat. Apparently, no libraries in Chicago have this book. No libraries in Illinois have it. Just three libraries in Cleveland, Fort Worth, and Harvard.
Published on March 24, 2025, the book is still pretty new. Hopefully, some libraries will add this to their collection. (Especially any library in the SWAN network that my local library is a part of.)
