Has anyone ever received real popped edible popcorn as shipping protection in a mailing?
Entrepeneur Magazine states this in their Shipping and Handling Essentials:
Use shredded newspaper or actual (unbuttered!) popcorn instead of Styrofoam peanuts. Your customers will appreciate your concern for the environment, and if you get hungry while packing, you can eat your materials!
I have! It kind of threw me off because normally you’re like meh packing materials, but then you see POCORN and you are presented with a conundrum, because packing material isn’t usually edible…it would be funny if Amazon shipped all their DVDs in popcorn, I bet lots of people would eat it and be like wow Amazon really knows customer satisfaction.
what if someone gets sick from eating the popcorn?
Well if people got sick, then Amazon could come back and say ” SERIOUSLY WHO EATS PACKING MATERIAL DUH! ” Cuz it’s all about being smarter than the package, a dvd shipped in popcorn may LOOK like an all inclusive movie night, but in reality, its just a movie packed in environmentally friendly packing materials!
oh that’s kinda nice if they ship popcorn with movies. Maybe they would ship pillows with books.

Cannondale bikes came packed in popcorn. I was just looking this up to see if people still did that. I think it was a great idea and very few kernals showed up smashed. I guess popcorn is stronger than I had expected it to be. I’d like to see people go back to that though.
i once choked on a peice of popcorn i bought from the jessica LMTD company. i hvnt been able to even look at a piece of popcorn since. i find it hard to talk about it now. NEVER TRUST JESSICA LMTD!
