The host of the popular Blues Clues childrens’s show has left the show and is working on a rock album. I greatly admire how he is able to leave something popular and successful to futher discover himself.
But I wonder if this is a start of a trend.
Start up a children’s show with the plan that the host will leave in three years to become an ironic edgey celebrity. It’s the ultimate in cool. It’s like taking Mr. Rogers and making him into a emo singer. But the only reason for doing the show is to produce this ironic character.
