How can 2005 be the early 2000s? The middle of the decade is the end of ’04/beginning of ’05. This decade sure has been slow for pop culture though, everything’s still so 1999ish. Early ’00s is like 2000-2003, well pop culturally about 1999 to 2002 I’d say is early ’00s. The beginning of Britney to the beginning of 50 Cent, so about Dec ’98 to mid-’02 if you want to get really exact. It’s all the Nineties to me.
Considering the 2000’s will be 100 years old when they finally end, it’s hard to say what will ultimately be from the early part of this century

Notheless I personally believe the 1990s decade is historically part of the 21st Century. When the Cold War ended in ’91 the 20th Century was over; 20th century is 1914 to 1990 inclusive.
