The secret to how salads will replace french fries

People like to order french fries because it’s an easy no-brainer snack food. You can easily pick up a french fry and eat it. You don’t have to look at it or set anything back down.

Eating a salad with a fork isn’t as easy. You have to watch your fork spear the lettuce. You have to set your fork down to take a break.

Solution: Just eat the salad with your hands. It’s just like eating fries–an easy mindless snack.

As I tend to dip my salad bites into the dressing rather than pouring it all over the top and mixing it in, I can see how this could work for me: mimimal mess, and really no messier than picking up a greasy/salty fry and dipping it in whatever one happens to dip his/her french fry in. Personally, I like mayonnaise on my fries … oh wait, we’re trying to replace fries with salad. Sorry.

salad has so many uneven/inconsistent pieces. if only they could compress it into regular shapes, like they do with fries. like maybe they could breed a certain type of “finger lettuce” with finger-sized leaves that would be easily dipped in dressing.

I made fries on Thursday. They were good. Not once did I wish I was eating a salad
