Why fall fashions come out in August

Yesterday was a very cold day in Chicago for the middle of August. People were out shopping for jackets and pullovers. Good thing the fall fashions were in. Even though August gets very hot (the hottest month of the year here), there are those occasional cool days where people search out something to keep them warm.

It didn’t get below 58 though, which is the perfect temperature! You could get by without wearing a jacket, or choose to wear one as you see fit. I’m certainly not complaining about this near-record cold snap! I hope it lasts through November!

So phun-nee to see you refer to the wind last night as CHILL-E in August! Truly phreak-ee!

That’s funny, I was just thinking that this morning as I was walking to work, that being that the 54 degrees this morning felt great [even without a coat”> because it’s been cooler and we’re used to it.

oh wow, i think 58 degrees definitely warrants a jacket. whenever it is under 80 degrees in the summer, i carry a long-sleeved-something with me, in case i get cold [which happens a lot”>. but i know that my inner body thermometer is skewed from other people’s.

I read somewhere that women, in general, are often colder than men because woman have iron deficiencies. I must have a lot of iron in my blood.

also, i have heard that women’s blood flow tends to be more concentrated in the mid-region [away from limbs/extremities”>, to support the reproductive organs. did you know that the female human body will do almost anything to protect an embryo/fetus? if it has to make a choice, it will support the baby rather than the mother.

That’s very interesting. I would subscribe to that theory. I’ve often heard women say things relative to their feet or hands being cold.
